1. How payment works
Posting a task is free. When a Hustler claims your task, you pay the task amount and fees, and the money is held securely in escrow by our licensed payment partner — you have a short window (currently 10 minutes) to complete payment, after which the claim is released and your task returns to the feed with no charge. You may also choose to pay upfront when posting ("secure it now"); secured tasks are marked accordingly. Escrowed funds are released to the Hustler only after the task is completed and you approve it. Funds are never released to the Hustler just because time has passed: if you neither approve nor dispute within your review window, the funds stay held and HSTLE checks the work and decides whether to release them to the Hustler or refund you. That window is at least 24 hours from the moment the Hustler marks it complete, and longer for bigger jobs (up to 72 hours); the exact window for your task is shown in the app. HSTLE charges the fees shown in-app before you confirm.
2. Cancellation by the Poster
- Unclaimed and unpaid: cancel anytime — nothing was charged.
- Paid upfront but not yet claimed: cancel anytime for a full refund of the held amount. If no one claims a secured task within 24 hours, it is refunded automatically in full.
- After a Hustler claims and payment is made, but before work begins: you may cancel; the held amount is refunded, less any non-refundable payment-processing fee where applicable.
- After work has begun or is complete: the amount is due for work done. Disputes are handled under section 5.
3. Cancellation by the Hustler
If a Hustler cancels before completing the task, no funds are released to them and the held amount is refunded to the Poster in full.
4. Non-completion
If a task is not completed, the escrowed amount is refunded to the Poster. Funds are never released to a Hustler for work that was not done.
5. Disputes
If you disagree that a task was completed properly, raise a dispute in the app before approving, within your review window if you can (at least 24 hours from the Hustler marking it complete, longer for bigger jobs). If that window ends with no approval and no dispute, the funds stay held and HSTLE checks the work and decides (section 1); you can still raise a dispute until it does. Raising a dispute freezes the funds until it is resolved. HSTLE will review the available evidence (chat, photos, receipts, status, ratings) and decide a fair outcome — full release, full refund, or a partial split. Our decision is made in good faith to resolve the matter; it does not limit your statutory consumer rights.
6. Item budgets
For tasks where the Hustler buys something on your behalf, any unspent portion of the item budget is refunded to you, supported by a receipt where required.
7. Refund timeline and method
Approved refunds are returned to your original payment method, typically within 5–7 business days, subject to your bank or payment provider's processing times. Any non-refundable third-party payment-processing fee will be stated at the time.
8. How to request a refund
Raise it in the app on the relevant task, or contact hello@hstle.in with your task details. We aim to respond within 48 hours.
9. Cash pilot
During any cash-based pilot, payment is settled directly in cash between the Poster and Hustler and HSTLE does not collect, hold, or refund money. These escrow terms apply once in-app payments are enabled.
